Honor Flight Columbus Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 2010 by four veterans who wanted to ensure that every World War II veteran in the area had the opportunity to visit the National World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. Since then, Honor Flight Columbus has grown to include veterans of other wars and conflicts, including the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Its mission is to recognize, honor, and celebrate the service of America’s veterans by providing them with an unforgettable “flight of honor” to Washington, DC to visit the memorials on their behalf. Honor Flight Columbus works with bus companies, hospitals, veterans' organizations, and other partners to provide veterans with safe and comfortable transportation, meals, and accommodations. The organization also provides veterans with a variety of activities and events, such as a visit to the Arlington National Cemetery, a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and other special events. Honor Flight Columbus is committed to honoring America’s veterans, and its mission has ensured that thousands of veterans have had the opportunity to experience the monuments and memorials in our nation’s capital.
