The Charlotte Hawkins Brown Historic Foundation, located in Sedalia, North Carolina, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Charlotte Hawkins Brown, a pioneering African American educator and civil rights activist. The Foundation's efforts include the preservation and restoration of the Palmer Memorial Institute buildings, grounds, and artifacts; research and publication of books, articles, and videos on the history of Palmer Memorial Institute and its founder; and hosting educational forums and programs related to the history of African American education and civil rights.
The Charlotte Hawkins Brown Historic Foundation is a living testimony to the power of education and the importance of preserving history. Though Dr. Brown has passed away, her legacy lives on through the Foundation's work to promote her vision for an equitable and just society.
