Vance Birthplace in Weaverville, NC is the home of Zebulon Baird Vance, an influential American politician who served as Governor of North Carolina from 1862 to 1865 and from 1876 to 1879. Located in the Reems Creek Valley, the site is nestled in a picturesque setting surrounded by rolling hills.

The site consists of a two-story log structure built in the late 18th century, and the Vance family cemetery. The house, constructed from local yellow pine logs, was built by the family of Zebulon Vance in 1795. The home is constructed in the traditional Appalachian style with a central chimney and four rooms. The house is furnished with a variety of artifacts, antiques, and period furniture, as well as photographs, documents, and family memorabilia depicting the Vance family and their times.

The grounds contain a variety of outdoor features, including a gazebo, a walking trail, and an outdoor amphitheater. The site also includes the Vance family cemetery, the resting place of Zebulon and his wife, Martha. The cemetery contains a variety of graves, including those of Zebulon's children, and a memorial marker honoring fallen Confederate soldiers.

Vance Birthplace is a living memorial to the life and times of Zebulon Vance and his family, and provides a unique glimpse into the history of Western North Carolina. The site is open to the public for tours and educational programs, and it is a popular destination for visitors from all over the world.
