The First Flight Foundation in Kitty Hawk NC is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Wright Brothers’ first powered flight in 1903. The Foundation is responsible for the preservation of the Wright Brothers National Memorial, a designated National Historic Landmark, located in Kill Devil Hills, NC. The Foundation works to promote the legacy of the Wright Brothers and the impact of their achievement on aviation, science, and technology.

The Foundation offers a variety of educational programs and activities for visitors of all ages. Through its museum and gift shop, visitors can learn about the Wright Brothers and their achievements. There are interactive kiosks and displays about the Wright Brothers’ experiments and accomplishments. The Wright Brothers National Memorial Park also includes replicas of the Wright Flyer, the world’s first successful powered aircraft, and the Wright Brothers Monument.

The Foundation also manages the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge, which connects the towns of Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills and offers spectacular views of the Wright Brothers National Memorial Park. The Foundation also offers walking tours of the area, as well as group tours for special events. Additionally, the Foundation is involved with the Wright Brothers Aviation Camp, a summer camp designed to educate students about the history of aviation and the Wright Brothers.

The First Flight Foundation is committed to preserving the legacy of the Wright Brothers and educating the public about their accomplishments. Through its educational programs and activities, the Foundation provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about the Wright Brothers’ pioneering aviation achievements.
