The Old Bridge Preservation Society (OBPS) is a non-profit organization located in Sunset Beach, North Carolina that is dedicated to preserving the historic Sunset Beach Bridge. The society was founded in 2001 by a group of local citizens who were passionate about preserving the bridge as a historic landmark and community asset.

The Sunset Beach Bridge, also known as the Mannon C. Gore Bridge, was built in 1958 and served as the only access point to the island of Sunset Beach until 2011 when it was replaced with a new bridge. The OBPS worked tirelessly to ensure that the old bridge was not demolished but instead preserved as a pedestrian and bicycle crossing.

Today, the Old Bridge Preservation Society operates a museum and educational center in the old bridge tender house, which is located at the base of the bridge. The museum features exhibits on the history of Sunset Beach and the bridge, as well as displays of artifacts and photographs. The society also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including a popular summer concert series.

The OBPS is supported by donations and the dedicated efforts of its volunteers. Its mission is to preserve and celebrate the history of Sunset Beach and the old bridge, and to promote the island as a destination for visitors and residents alike.
