The Chicamacomico Historical Association, Inc. (CHIA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Rodanthe, North Carolina. Founded in 1982, CHIA is dedicated to preserving the rich maritime history of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. CHIA operates the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site, which is comprised of three buildings that date back to the late 19th century. The site includes the original 1874 Chicamacomico Station, the 1911 Rodanthe Station, and the 1916 Station Boat House, as well as a museum, a gift shop, and a training center.

The museum at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site offers visitors a chance to learn about the history of the Outer Banks and the role that the U.S. Life-Saving Service played in protecting ships and their crews during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can explore original artifacts, photographs, and replicas of the equipment used by the Life-Saving Service, as well as take part in special events and activities throughout the year.

The gift shop at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site offers visitors a chance to purchase items related to the history of the Outer Banks and the U.S. Life-Saving Service. Items available for purchase include books, apparel, and souvenirs.

In addition to operating the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station Historic Site, CHIA also sponsors educational programs, publishes books and articles about the Outer Banks, and participates in various public outreach initiatives. The organization is committed to preserving the maritime heritage of the Outer Banks and sharing its history with the public.
