Historic Eagle Lodge Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The foundation was established to preserve and promote the history of the Eagle Lodge, a historic building that served as a meeting place for the local African American community during the Jim Crow era.

The Eagle Lodge was built in 1870 and was used as a gathering place for the local African American community for more than a century. The building played an important role in the Civil Rights Movement in Hillsborough and was the site of many important meetings and events.

In 2012, the Historic Eagle Lodge Foundation was established to preserve the history and legacy of the Eagle Lodge. The foundation works to maintain and restore the building, as well as to promote education and awareness of the important role that the Eagle Lodge played in the history of Hillsborough and the Civil Rights Movement.

The foundation offers educational programs, tours, and events throughout the year to engage the community and promote awareness of the history of the Eagle Lodge. The foundation is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who are committed to preserving this important piece of history for future generations.

Leaf hider Putty Root - Aplectrum hyemale Foliage present mostly in winter and early spring, like the much more common Cranefly Orchid, Tipularia discolor. I cannot recall seeing so many Aplectrum in a clump like this previously.
Early bloomer Round-lobed Hepatica - Hepatica americana (sometimes listed as Hepatica nobilis) A botanist friend of mine has seen it blooming in the Triangle area as early as Christmas!
Toothwort Cut-leaved Toothwort - Cardamine concatenata (Note correction to ID.) With a few Dimpled Trout Lily (Erythronium umbilicatum).
