Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Huntersville, NC (MOMBC Historic) is located in Huntersville, North Carolina and is a part of the Mecklenburg County Baptist Association. The church was established in 1883 by a group of freed slaves from a nearby plantation, and is the oldest African-American church in the area.
The church building, constructed in 1916, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a frame, one-story structure with a gabled roof and a stone foundation. The building features a large central sanctuary, which is surrounded by ancillary rooms and a large vestibule. The church has served as a gathering place for many social events and activities for the community, including a Sunday school, Bible study and Vacation Bible School.
