Hope Plantation is a historic site located in Aulander, North Carolina. The plantation was originally built in the late 1700s by David Stone, a prominent statesman and planter. The site consists of the main plantation house, several outbuildings, and a surrounding farmstead.

The main plantation house is a two-story, Georgian-style brick structure with a hipped roof and a central pedimented entrance. It features a large front porch and several spacious rooms furnished with period pieces. The outbuildings include a smokehouse, a dairy, a kitchen, a carriage house, and a slave quarters.

The plantation was a thriving agricultural enterprise, producing cotton, corn, wheat, and other crops. It relied heavily on slave labor, and the slave quarters on the property provide insight into the lives of the enslaved people who lived and worked there.

Today, Hope Plantation is open to the public for tours and educational programs. Visitors can explore the historic buildings and learn about the history of the plantation, as well as the broader social and economic context of the antebellum South. The site is also used for special events, such as weddings and cultural festivals.
