The STEPs of Marco Polo Foundation for Historical Exploration in Douglaston NY is a unique, non-profit educational organization that seeks to provide students with a unique learning experience. Founded in 2006, the STEPs Foundation provides students with an opportunity to explore the world through the eyes of Marco Polo, the famous Venetian explorer.
The STEPs program is designed to help students gain a better understanding of the world, while developing their critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. Through its courses and activities, the STEPs program emphasizes the importance of understanding the history and culture of other countries. Students learn about the different regions and cultures, as well as the history and politics of those regions.
The STEPs program also strives to provide students with a unique opportunity to explore the world of Marco Polo. Through field trips and interactive lectures, students learn about Marco Polo’s travels and the impact his expeditions had on the world. Additionally, students are able to use Marco Polo’s map to explore the land he visited, and gain a better understanding of the geographical features of these places.
The STEPs program is offered to students in grades 6-12, and is held at the Douglaston Community Center. Through the STEPs program, students gain a better understanding of the world, and develop their social and critical thinking skills. The program is designed to give students an opportunity to explore the world of Marco Polo, while also learning about the history and culture of other countries.
