The Flanders Village Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Flanders, New York. Established in 1976, the society is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the village and its surrounding area. The society operates out of the Flanders Historical Society Museum, which is located in a renovated 1820s schoolhouse.

The museum features a collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that showcase the history of the area, including exhibits on early settlers, agriculture, and local industries. 1964 New York World's Fair miniature train This miniature 16 inch gauge train was built by the Alan Herschel Company and delivered to the LIRR exhibit at the New York World’s Fair in March 1964. After being part of the LIRR exhibit at the 1964-65 World’s Fair, the train went to the Grumman Aerospace Corp. Calverton, NY site where it was a featured attraction at the annual Grumman Family Picnic. Upon closing of the Calverton site the train was given to the Village of Patchogue, NY which, in turn, donated it to the Railroad Museum of Long Island in Riverhead, New York were it operates.
