The Edward Hopper Landmark Preservation Foundation in Nyack NY is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and interpretation of the legacy of the American artist Edward Hopper. The Foundation was founded in 1999 by Hopper’s widow Josephine Hopper and is located in the Edward Hopper House (Hopper’s birthplace, childhood home and permanent residence). The mission of the foundation is to inspire and educate the public, particularly young people, to appreciate the visual arts and the life and work of Edward Hopper, to protect the integrity of the Hopper House as a National Historic Landmark, and to make it available to the public for educational and cultural purposes.

The Hopper House is open to the public through guided tours and serves as a cultural center and a museum hosting a variety of educational programs, lectures, workshops and community events. The Foundation also established the Edward Hopper Research Center, which includes an archive of Hopper’s life and art. The Foundation is actively involved in the restoration and preservation of the Hopper House, as well as other Hopper related sites. It also works to preserve and promote Hopper’s legacy through publications, exhibitions, and educational programs.
