September 17, 2021: "The Eagle", Roscoe Conkling Park, Utica, New York Standing on a high ridge with a commanding view over the downtown skyline, <i>The Eagle</i> - a six-foot bronze statue sculpted in 1923 by noted artist Charles Keck - is one of the most well-known landmarks at Roscoe Conkling Park in Utica, New York.

The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS) is a non-profit organization based in Utica, New York, that works to preserve and promote the history and heritage of railroads in the Adirondack region of New York State. The society was founded in 1992, and since then has worked tirelessly to restore and maintain the historic rail lines that run through the Adirondack Mountains.

ARPS operates a number of different rail lines in the region, including the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, which runs from Utica to Lake Placid, and the Utica and Mohawk Valley Railroad, which runs from Utica to Thendara. The society also operates a number of historic rail cars and locomotives, which are used for special events and private charters.
