Dansville & Mt. Morris Railroad Depot, 1941 Originally opening in the 1870s, the D&amp;MM Depot was a wooden rectangular building that was later expanded in the 1920s. While the engines and tracks no longer remain in the village of North Dansville, the depot has undergone a number of restorative changes and stands today as Battle Street Brewery.

The Springwater-Webster Crossing Historical Society in Springwater, NY is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the local area. The society was founded in 1987 and is based out of the historic Crossroads Schoolhouse in Springwater. The society provides the community with educational programs and events, as well as resources for research into the area's history.

The society maintains a museum in the old Crossroads Schoolhouse, which houses artifacts, photographs, books, and other materials related to the local history. South Lima Erie Railroad When the Erie railroad first came to South Lima in 1852, many locals made their living by farming. The rich soil in the area was so ideal for celery, onions, and mushrooms, that one 1899 article described it as a &quot;boom town.&quot; To accommodate the massive amount of produce that was being shipped out on the Erie railroad, the Bahrenburgh Brothers Co. had a wooden storage building built by the Fay &amp; Dryer architecture firm in 1902. Two years later, a spark from a passing train started a fire that destroyed many homes and businesses including the storage building. It's replacement was built the same year and still stands today along Muck Rd.

WNY and Pennsylvania Station, Mt. Morris At the turn of the century Mt. Morris was a bustling town of industry. Passenger and freight trains would travel through the villages two trains stations before converging on S. Main St. The Genesee Valley Greenway along Genesee St. follows the tracks where the station stood until the railroad discontinued service in 1963.

September 1, 2022: Vintage-style neon sign for The Coffee Cup Restaurant, Main Street, Dansville, New York Seemingly straight out of the mid-20th century is the neon sign outside the Coffee Cup Restaurant on Main Street in Dansville, New York. This section of the village's business district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 as the Dansville Downtown Historic District.

Lehigh Valley Depot in Hemlock NY This image developed from a glass negative at the Livingston County Historian's Office shows the rural train depot that once stood just north of the Hemlock Fair Grounds.

While freight trains would load up fertilizer, and building materials from Woodruff, Reed, &amp; Co.'s two warehouses nestled against the Hemlock Outlet, eager guests could take a few short steps from the train platform to J.H. Morton's Hotel. In 1902 the Morton Hotel was advertised as &quot;First-class accommodations headquarters for hunters and fishermen. All kinds of liquors and cigars sold.&quot;

While the Hemlock Fair would attract crowds of visitors every fall, the abundance of nature in Hemlock would bring outdoorsmen to town all year long.

Dansville Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad Depot Here some fashionable passengers wait on the platform for their train in North Dansville, NY. You can see from the departing freight train on the right that this station was a transportation hub for both people and goods.

April 12, 2022: Genesee Valley Greenway, Mount Morris Lake and small dam, Mount Morris, New York Seen from the bridge carrying Mount Morris Road (NY 36) over the Genesee River just north of the village of Mount Morris, New York, this small dam lies at the bottom of the reservoir formed by the much larger and better-known Mount Morris Dam which is located a little more than a mile upriver within Letchworth State Park. In the background is the scenic footbridge carrying the Genesee Valley Greenway over the river.

March 6, 2022: Village Hall, Honeoye Falls, New York Built in 1886 atop a bluff on the shore of Honeoye Creek, the Village Hall is a contributing property to the National Register-listed historic district comprising mdowntown Honeoye Falls, new York. In addition to the offices of the municipal government, it originally doubled as the local fire hall.

Village Hall, Honeoye Falls, New York, March 2022 Honeoye Falls Village Hall, 5 East Street, Honeoye Falls, New York, March 2022. An 1886 work of the Rochester-based firm of Fay &amp; Dryer, this handsome brick edifice stands on the shore of Honeoye Creek and is a contributing property to the NRHP-listed Honeoye Falls Village Historic District. The stout massing, the rough texture of the exterior, the profusion of round- and segmentally-arched windows, and the Classical detailing (note the projecting crown on the second-story window above the entrance, with its ends styled into volutes) are all indicators of the Romanesque Revival style of architecture that was popular at the time. The robust corner tower, with the &quot;Iron Fireman&quot; sculpture adorning the top of its pyramidal roof, was an 1888 addition intended for the fire department with which the village government shared the building until 1975; its original purpose was as a place to hang firehoses out to dry. In addition, the second floor contained a large auditorium whose stage played host to a wide variety of fundraising dances, theatrical and vaudeville performances, and even movie screenings.
