The museum is housed in a two-story, Greek Revival-style building, built in 1881. Its exhibits include artifacts from the area’s Native American and Revolutionary War history, as well as artifacts from the industrial era, including farm tools, tools used in the woolen and tanning trades, and artifacts from the Civil War. The museum also offers guided tours of the area’s historic sites, such as the John C. Smith House and the Joseph Smith Homestead.
The museum also offers educational programs, including lectures, workshops, and field trips. These programs are designed to teach people about the history of the area and its people.
The association is supported by donations, memberships, and grants. It is open to the public on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 1-4 pm. Yearly memberships are available, and the museum offers discounts to senior citizens, veterans, and active duty military personnel.
