September 17, 2021: "The Eagle", Roscoe Conkling Park, Utica, New York Standing on a high ridge with a commanding view over the downtown skyline, <i>The Eagle</i> - a six-foot bronze statue sculpted in 1923 by noted artist Charles Keck - is one of the most well-known landmarks at Roscoe Conkling Park in Utica, New York.

The Limestone Ridge Historical Society (LRHS) is a nonprofit organization located in Oriskany Falls, New York. The organization was founded in 1977 by local residents who wanted to preserve the history of the area and its people. The Society is dedicated to educating the public about the history of the Limestone Ridge region and its people.

The Society’s activities include lectures, tours, and special events. They also maintain a museum and library, which house a variety of artifacts, documents, and photographs relating to the history of the Limestone Ridge region. The Society also sponsors an annual Limestone Ridge Festival, which features craft and antique vendors, food, music, and activities.

LRHS is actively involved in the preservation of historic buildings and sites in the Limestone Ridge region, including a one-room schoolhouse and a grist mill. The Society also works to restore and protect the area’s natural environment. Through their efforts, the Society has helped to protect and preserve the history of the Limestone Ridge region.

The Society is also part of the larger Oriskany Falls Historical Association (OFHA), which is dedicated to preserving the history of the region. The OFHA provides educational programs and activities to the public, and works to preserve the region’s historic buildings. The Society and the OFHA both work to promote the region’s history and culture.
