The Corning Museum of Glass is a museum located in Corning, New York, dedicated to the art, history, science, and technology of glass. Founded in 1951 by Corning Glass Works, the museum houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of glass objects from antiquity to the present. The collection includes more than 45,000 glass objects from around the world, spanning 3,500 years of glassmaking history.

The museum is home to the world’s oldest glass object, the Cairo Glass Bowl, dating back to 1500 B.C.E., as well as the world’s largest glass object, the Corning Tower, which stands 32 feet tall. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum also hosts special exhibitions and offers glassmaking demonstrations, classes, and lectures.

The museum also features a state-of-the-art glassmaking facility, where visitors can watch skilled glassmakers create glass works of art. The facility includes a series of furnaces, ovens, and tools used to create glass pieces. Visitors can also watch glassmaking demonstrations and classes, and participate in hands-on activities.

The Corning Museum of Glass is a non-profit institution that receives funding from the Corning Glass Center, the Corning Foundation, and other sponsors.
