The Charlton Historical Society in Ballston Lake, New York is an organization that was created to help preserve the history and heritage of Charlton, a town located in Saratoga County in upstate New York. The Society was founded in 1989 to collect, preserve and share the stories, documents, artifacts and photographs of the town’s past.

The Society is run by a board of directors and has an active membership that meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Charlton Town Hall. At each meeting, members discuss and plan events and activities to help promote the preservation of the town’s history. Additionally, the Society organizes a variety of educational programs, lectures, field trips and other activities throughout the year.

The Society also has a museum, located in the original Town Hall in the center of Charlton. The museum displays a variety of artifacts, such as military items, tools, photographs, furniture and more. The museum also features a research library, which contains a variety of books, documents and other materials related to the town’s history.

The Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Charlton and making it available to the public. Through its museum, library, events and activities, the Society works to ensure that the town’s rich and unique history is not forgotten.
