Perris / Perris Theater (# 0018) Opened in 1946, designed in an art-deco style but apparently modified at various times. It’s now owned by the city for its historical value to downtown, but closed due to structural problems.

Perris / SoCal Rail Museum UP 2564 (# 0007) Originally built in 1921 for a Union Pacific subsidiary and traded UP subsidiary “Oregon Short Line” in 1923 where it was used until 1955. Retired in 1959 and wound up at this museum in 1997. See:

The day I visited the museum there was almost no one there, which made it easier to explore the grounds but I didn’t get into any of the car barns. Pictures from visiting those at a previous time are with the tag to Southern California Railway Museum.

KC-10A Extender Conceptualized as the next generation of aerial tankers the KC-l0 combined the tasks of a tanker and cargo aircraft. Carrying more than 356,000 pounds of fuel - twice as much as the KC-135 Stratotanker – 75 personnel, and 170,000 pounds of cargo, the KC-10 could transport entire units of support personnel while re-fueling their deploying fighters enroute. The KC-10 could also be used to transport litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations.

Unlike previous re-fuelers, the KC-10's boom operator controls refueling operations through a digital, fly-by wire system. Sitting in the rear of the aircraft, the operator can see the receiver aircraft through a wide window. During boom refueling operations, fuel is transferred to the receiver at a maximum rate of 1,100 gallons per minute.

The KC-10 fleet was used extensively during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991, Operation Allied Force in 1999 and during the War on Terror following the September 11, 2001, attack.

The museum’s KC-10 Extender tail number 84-0185 was built in Long Beach California and delivered to the United Sates Air Force, March AFB in September 1984 with subsequent assignments to Travis AFB. It was flown to March Field Air Museum in 2023 for permanent display. It remains on loan from the NMUSAF.

Diff reassembled This time with all necessary parts included

Front suspension disassembly What's missing? Chassis brace, subframe, lower control arms, exhaust, steering rack, and struts.

Dirty diff Diff out of the car - this is just before the power washer came out (unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic of the cleaned diff, but you can see it in the final assembly pics.

Diff removed Also showing new H&amp;R springs. They are red, but progressive, so not the &quot;race&quot; springs (which are often identified by being red). Strangely enough, the springs that came off were also lowering springs, but with no name on them, so no way to tell what they were. The old ones were not progressive, however.
