Dansville & Mt. Morris Railroad Depot, 1941 Originally opening in the 1870s, the D&MM Depot was a wooden rectangular building that was later expanded in the 1920s. While the engines and tracks no longer remain in the village of North Dansville, the depot has undergone a number of restorative changes and stands today as Battle Street Brewery. Dalton Station, 1907 When the Dalton railroad station was first built circa 1852, the community that grew around it was appropriately named "Nunda Station. The town changed it's name to Dalton in 1880, but the station would remain in operation for another 79 years before being torn down in 1966. Avon Springs Hotel and Erie Depot, Pre-1875 The village of Avon became a bustling transportation hub in the summer of 1853. The rich mineral water of the Avon Springs brought crowds of people to the town's health spas, restaurants, and hotels. This stereoview shows a glimpse of the original Avon railroad depot with it's water tower and the neighboring Avon Springs Hotel. Sadly, all three structures were destroyed in a massive fire on December 13th, 1875 and only the depot was rebuilt. Sharing a meal on Murray Hill While Murray Hill functioned as a tuberculosis hospital, both patients and staff would live on the property 24/7. April 12, 2022: Genesee Valley Greenway, Mount Morris Lake and small dam, Mount Morris, New York Seen from the bridge carrying Mount Morris Road (NY 36) over the Genesee River just north of the village of Mount Morris, New York, this small dam lies at the bottom of the reservoir formed by the much larger and better-known Mount Morris Dam which is located a little more than a mile upriver within Letchworth State Park. In the background is the scenic footbridge carrying the Genesee Valley Greenway over the river.
