The Railway Historical Society of Orchard Park, New York is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1964. The Society's mission is to preserve and interpret the history and development of railroads in the Orchard Park area. The Society is dedicated to researching, collecting and disseminating information about the history of railroads in the area.
The Society is made up of an all-volunteer team of dedicated individuals who strive to keep the history of the railroads alive. The members have an extensive collection of artifacts and photographs related to the history of the railways in the Orchard Park area. The collection includes photographs and documents from the Erie, Pennsylvania, Lackawanna and New York Central lines. The Society also has an extensive library of railroad books, magazines and photographs.
The Society is active in the preservation of railway artifacts, and holds several events throughout the year to celebrate the history of the railways in the area. The Society's annual Railroad Days event includes a model railroad display, train rides, and a chance to talk to members of the Society about the history of railroads in the Orchard Park area.
