The Rip Tide Preservation Association (RTPA) is a non-profit organization based in Beach Haven Terrace, New Jersey. Founded in 2000, the organization's mission is to preserve and protect the local rip current, provide educational programs to the community and promote the safe use of the rip current by swimmers and surfers.
The RTPA works closely with local, state and federal agencies to ensure the safety of rip currents and to protect the local environment. The organization conducts ongoing sea level rise research, beach erosion studies and water quality testing to identify potential areas of concern. The RTPA also offers educational programs to local schools, organizations and the community on rip current safety and ocean conservation.

This includes supporting local beach nourishment and replenishment projects, advocating for the protection of local marine life and opposing new coastal development projects that could potentially harm the rip current.
In addition to its advocacy efforts, the RTPA organizes beach cleanups and other community events to help keep the shoreline safe. The organization also provides volunteer opportunities for local residents to help with beach monitoring and maintenance.
The RTPA is dedicated to preserving the rip current for generations to come, and continues to work hard to ensure Beach Haven Terrace remains a safe and enjoyable beach destination.
