Historical and Educational Lodge-Hall Preservatory Inc is a non-profit organization located in Swedesboro, New Jersey, dedicated to preserving the history and educational legacy of the Swedesboro community. Established in 2002, the Preservatory works to promote the unique history and culture of the area, preserving the past and building a stronger future for generations to come.
The Preservatory operates out of the historic Swedesboro Lodge Hall, a building constructed in 1900 by the local Swedish-American community. The Lodge Hall is a two-story brick building located on Kings Highway in Swedesboro, and still stands today as a reminder of the town’s rich history. The Preservatory works to maintain and restore the Lodge Hall, preserving its architectural and historical integrity.
The Preservatory also sponsors a variety of educational programs, workshops, and events. Through these programs, the Preservatory focuses on educating the public about the history and culture of Swedesboro, as well as providing educational opportunities for the local community. Examples of their programs include history lectures, field trips, and film screenings.
The Preservatory is also involved with the preservation of other local historical sites in Swedesboro. They have worked to restore and preserve the Swedesboro Cemetery, the Old St. John’s Church, and other local landmarks.
