The Northfield Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Northfield, New Jersey. Established in 1982, the Northfield Historical Society Inc. strives to bring the past to life through its collections, programs, and events.
The organization’s mission is to collect and preserve artifacts and documents relevant to the history of Northfield and its surrounding area, to educate the public about the history of the area, and to promote community pride and appreciation for the area’s history. To this end, the organization houses an extensive collection of artifacts and documents, which are available for public viewing.
The Northfield Historical Society Inc. holds educational programs, lectures, and exhibitions throughout the year. The organization also publishes a bi-annual newsletter, The Northfield Chronicle, which contains articles on topics related to the history of Northfield. Additionally, the organization runs a variety of special events, such as the annual Northfield Historical Home and Garden Tour, which provides participants with a behind-the-scenes look at the history of Northfield.
The Northfield Historical Society Inc. is supported through membership fees, donations, and grants. In addition, the organization relies on the dedication of its volunteers, who help to maintain the organization’s collections and assist with its educational and community outreach programs.
