Friends of the Old Clove Church Inc (FOC) is a non-profit organization located in Wantage, New Jersey. FOC was formed in 1992 with the mission of preserving and restoring the historic Old Clove Church, located in Wantage. The church was originally built in 1753 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. FOC is dedicated to restoring and preserving the church, as well as its grounds, for public use and enjoyment.
FOC works in partnership with the State of New Jersey and Sussex County to preserve the Old Clove Church and its grounds. They have been successful in restoring the building and its cemetery, and have also been able to acquire grants to help with the restoration. FOC has also been able to acquire grants to support the preservation of the Old Clove Church’s architectural integrity and to ensure its proper maintenance.
FOC also works to ensure the church is used for its original purpose: a place of worship and a gathering place for people of all faiths. They host various events throughout the year, such as a monthly worship service, a summer concert series, and a variety of other community events. FOC also provides tours of the Old Clove Church and its grounds for visitors.
In addition to its mission of restoring and preserving the Old Clove Church, FOC is also dedicated to educating the public about the history of the church and the importance of preserving its legacy. They provide educational materials and resources, as well as educational programs for children and adults. FOC is committed to preserving the history and culture of the Old Clove Church for future generations.
