The Acworth Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization based in South Acworth, New Hampshire. Founded in 1969, the Society’s mission is to preserve, collect, and interpret the historical and cultural heritage of Acworth, New Hampshire and the surrounding area.

The Society currently owns and operates two historic sites. The first is the Acworth Meeting House, which was built in 1812 and is a classic example of New England Federal-style architecture. The second is the Acworth Historical Museum, which is housed in an old schoolhouse and contains a collection of artifacts related to Acworth’s history.

The Society also works to preserve and protect the historic landmarks in the area, and has been instrumental in helping to restore and maintain many of the town’s historic buildings.

The Society holds a number of events throughout the year, including an annual meeting, a summer picnic, and a winter potluck. It also provides educational programs to the community, such as lectures and workshops, and is active in promoting the preservation of Acworth’s heritage.

The Society’s membership is open to anyone with an interest in preserving Acworth’s history. Membership fees are used to support the Society’s activities, including the preservation and maintenance of its historic sites and the educational programs it provides.
