Air Force Flight Test Center (AFTC) at Edwards Air Force Base (AFB) in California is the premier testing and development center for the Air Force. It is the largest center of its kind in the world and is responsible for testing the most advanced aircraft and aerospace systems. AFTC is the only center in the Air Force dedicated to the development, testing and evaluation of all aircraft, systems, and components.

AFTC consists of two main divisions: the Air Force Test Center (AFTC) and the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC). The AFTC is responsible for testing and evaluating new and existing aircraft and their associated systems, while the AFFTC is responsible for researching, developing, and testing advanced aerospace systems. AFTC also includes the Air Force Flight Test Museum, which houses a large collection of historical aircraft and artifacts.

In addition to testing and evaluation, AFTC provides a wide range of services to the Air Force. It performs training, maintenance, logistics, and systems integration. AFTC also provides support to other Air Force organizations and other government agencies.

AFTC is a major part of the Edwards AFB complex, which also contains the 412th Test Wing, the Air Force Test Pilot School, and the Air Force Flight Test Center.
