I could not see her perched there in the dark but I certainly saw her in the morning light.

This is a shop sign in a fairly flat Mississippi River community on a sparsely populated part of the northwestern border of Tennessee. I will tell you what it is not. It is NOT a sign in hillbilly country, which is on the opposite side of the state, Eastern Tennessee's Appalachia region. What is it? It is a sign that there are people in the Mississippi River region that think hillbillies are cool.

Note: I am near the southwest Kentucky / northwest Tennessee border visiting certain spots in and around Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge. Frankly, I'm not certain what side of the border this spot is in.

Bald eagle ♀︎ Mature female bald eagles are about 30 percent larger than males. I'd say this raptor qualifies as a large bald eagle. So female. Judging from her feather colors and lack of a full white head, she is not quite fully mature. So, four years old?

She's watching my every move like <s>a hawk</s>, er, an eagle.
