Turner's Battery First Mississippi Light Artillery Co C was a unit of the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. The battery was raised in Starkville, Mississippi in 1861, and was named after its commander, Captain James H. Turner. The battery was composed of men from Oktibbeha County and other surrounding areas of Mississippi.

The unit was equipped with four 6-pounder cannon and was initially sent to Fort Henry, Tennessee. The battery saw action in several battles, including the Battle of Shiloh, the Siege of Corinth, and the Battle of Perryville.

During the Battle of Perryville, Turner's Battery was heavily engaged and suffered significant losses, including the death of Captain Turner. Despite their losses, the battery continued to fight until it was eventually forced to retreat.

After the battle, the battery was reorganized and continued to serve in various campaigns throughout the war. However, due to the constant losses, the unit was eventually disbanded in 1865.

Today, a monument to Turner's Battery stands in the Oktibbeha County Courthouse Square in Starkville, Mississippi, honoring the brave men who served in this unit during the Civil War.
