The Pequot Lakes Area Historic Society is a nonprofit organization located in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Its mission is to preserve and promote the history of the surrounding area, which includes the towns of Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point, Jenkins, and Lake Shore.
The society operates two museums in Pequot Lakes: The Cole Memorial Building and the Schoolhouse Museum. The Schoolhouse Museum is a one-room schoolhouse built in 1895 that was in use until 1957. It has been restored to its original condition and features exhibits on education in the early 1900s.
In addition to its museums, the Pequot Lakes Area Historic Society hosts events throughout the year, including a summer concert series, a fall harvest festival, and a Christmas open house.
The society is run by a volunteer board of directors and relies on donations and membership fees to fund its operations.
