The Winona Steam Calliope Association Inc. is a non-profit organization in Minn City, Minnesota dedicated to the preservation and promotion of steam calliopes. The Association was founded in 1965 by a group of local enthusiasts who felt the unique musical instrument was disappearing from public view.
The Association's mission is to promote the use of steam calliopes in public performances, to create a community of steam calliope enthusiasts, and to preserve the history of steam calliopes. The Association is home to the largest collection of steam calliopes in the world, with over 25 calliopes in its possession.
The Association holds a variety of public events, such as concerts and parades, to showcase the music of the steam calliope. The Association also holds an annual steam calliope festival, which features demonstrations, workshops, and performances of the instrument.
