Save the Northfield Depot is a grassroots community organization in Northfield, Minnesota dedicated to preserving and repurposing the historic Northfield Depot. This depot was built in 1888 and served as a hub for transportation and commerce in the region for over a century. The depot was also the site of the infamous James-Younger Gang robbery in 1876, a significant event in Minnesota history.

In 2008, the Northfield Depot was placed on the National Register of Historic Places, but it fell into disrepair and was closed to the public in 2009. Save the Northfield Depot was formed in 2011 to advocate for the restoration and reuse of this important landmark. The organization has worked tirelessly to raise funds, gather community support, and secure grants to rehabilitate the depot.

Today, the Northfield Depot is a thriving community center that serves as a hub for arts, culture, and history in Northfield. The restored depot features a museum, event space, and a community gathering place for local organizations and groups. Save the Northfield Depot continues to play a vital role in the ongoing preservation and maintenance of this historic landmark.
