So many places to look in this multi-media exhibition If artifacts are 3-D and photos are 2-D, then perhaps lines of text can be thought of as 1-D. Unlike the still photos, the (rear-projection) video loop at the center of this snapshot from the "Mandela: the official exhibition" includes an audio layer with specially arranged speakers that confine the playback to the immediate vicinity of viewers, rather than filling the exhibit hall. Also in the snapshot is reflection on the video display in which part of the far wall to the left of the large portrait of Rev. Desmond Tutu, including a visitor reading the label text.
