Forest views filling in with 2024 leaves Near the Aman Park trail head, this view off the bluff down to the Sand Creek offers long views when the tree branches are bare during late fall, winter, and early spring. But now the green is returning quickly. In another week of mild temperatures, occasional rain, and longer days, the view will turn into a wall of green.

Michigan Shipwreck Research Associates (MSRA) is a non-profit organization based in Holland, MI, dedicated to the discovery, documentation, and preservation of shipwrecks in the Great Lakes region. Founded in 2001, MSRA is comprised of a team of volunteers with diverse backgrounds, including maritime historians, archaeologists, divers, and technology experts.

MSRA conducts extensive research on the history of shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, using archival records, maps, and other historical sources to identify potential shipwreck sites. In addition to documenting shipwrecks, MSRA also works to preserve them for future generations. The organization partners with government agencies and other non-profit organizations to advocate for the protection of underwater cultural resources and to provide public education on the importance of preserving the region's maritime heritage.

MSRA has made significant contributions to the field of underwater archaeology and maritime history, including the discovery and documentation of several historically significant shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, such as the steamship Eber Ward and the schooner Metropolis.
