The Lansing Police Historical Preservation Association (LPHPA) is a nonprofit organization based in Lansing, Michigan that celebrates the history of the Lansing Police Department (LPD). Founded in 2015, the Association is dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and educating the public about the history of the LPD.
The LPHPA works to preserve the history of the LPD by collecting and preserving artifacts and documents, as well as by hosting educational events. The Association also works to build relationships between the LPD and the community by hosting community events, such as open houses, historic vehicle shows, and memorial services.
The LPHPA’s collection includes a variety of artifacts, including police equipment, uniforms, photographs, equipment, and other memorabilia from the LPD’s history. The Association also houses a library of documents and books related to the history of the LPD.
The LPHPA is active in the Lansing community and holds various events throughout the year, including fundraising events and educational lectures. The Association also works to honor the LPD’s history by recognizing retired police officers and by hosting memorial services for fallen officers.
