The Committee for the Zoo’s Future in Royal Oak, Michigan is a group of local stakeholders dedicated to ensuring the long-term success of the Detroit Zoo. These recommendations are then presented to the Zoo’s Board of Directors for approval.

The Committee for the Zoo’s Future also works with the City of Royal Oak to ensure that the Zoo remains an important part of the city’s identity. The committee helps to identify new opportunities for the Zoo to engage the local community and to promote the Zoo’s mission.
