South Pasadena Preservation (SPP) is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the unique historic character of South Pasadena, California. Founded in 1988, SPP works to protect the architectural heritage and historic neighborhoods of South Pasadena by advocating for historic preservation and promoting public awareness of the city’s history.

SPP works to protect and promote the city’s historic neighborhoods through advocacy, education, and public outreach. The organization regularly speaks on behalf of South Pasadena’s historic structures and neighborhoods before local government bodies and commissions, such as the City Council, Planning Commission, and Architectural Commission, and provides input on proposed development projects.

Through education and public outreach, SPP works to increase public awareness of the city’s history and encourages citizens to become involved in preserving the city’s heritage. The organization hosts regular public lectures, walking tours, and other programs and events to educate the public about South Pasadena’s history.
