View from North-Country-Trail mile 1002 Stretching from North Dakota to New Hampshire the NCT is a mix of forest, prairie, dirt road, and paved shoulders to connect all the states it runs through. This view of springtime oak forest on rolling glacial terrain is just a couple miles north of Lowell and maybe 1/4 or 1/3 mile east of the Flat River. With no 2024 foliage yet, the blue skies pour sunlight through the canopy to the leafy forest floor, presenting a wall of woody columns in a rustic sort of temple.
