SONOMA STATE HISTORIC PARK

Sonoma State Historic Park is a state-protected historic park located in Sonoma, California. The state park is comprised of several historic buildings and landmarks, including the Mission San Francisco Solano, the Blue Wing Inn, the Toscano Hotel, the Vallejo Home, and the Lachryma Montis adobe. These structures are significant examples of California's early Spanish, Mexican and American history.

The Mission San Francisco Solano, built in 1823, is the last of California's 21 Spanish Missions. It serves as a reminder of the Spanish and Mexican presence in California. The Blue Wing Inn, built in 1836, is a former stagecoach stop and inn. It is one of the oldest buildings in Sonoma and was the site of the Bear Flag Revolt of 1846. The Toscano Hotel, built in 1859, is the oldest hotel still standing in California. The Vallejo Home, built in 1851, was the home of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the founder of Sonoma. The Lachryma Montis adobe, built in 1837, is the oldest adobe in Sonoma and is a National Historic Landmark.

Sonoma State Historic Park is a popular tourist attraction and a great place to learn about California's past. There are many interpretive programs and guided tours available to visitors. The park also hosts special events such as living history days and lectures. Sonoma State Historic Park is open to the public daily and is free of charge.
