The Shafter Depot Museum is a historic train depot located in the city of Shafter, California. The museum was originally built in 1899 as a Southern Pacific Railroad depot and was in use until the 1950s. In 1984, the depot was restored and opened as a museum to preserve the history of the railroad in Shafter and the surrounding area.

The museum features exhibits on the history of the Southern Pacific Railroad and its impact on the development of Shafter and Kern County. Visitors can view artifacts and photographs of the depot and the surrounding area, as well as learn about the role of the railroad in the agriculture industry.

One of the main attractions of the museum is the restored train caboose located on the property. Visitors can climb aboard the caboose and experience what it was like to ride on a train in the early 20th century.

The museum is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm, or by appointment for group tours.
