5th Mass Battery E Light Artillery Army of the Potomac Inc (5th Mass Battery) is a historic organization that reenacts the active duty experience of the Civil War. Located in Reading, Massachusetts, the organization works to preserve the memory of the men and women who served in the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War.

The 5th Mass Battery was originally organized in 1862 and was part of the 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, 9th Corps of the Army of the Potomac. The battery was involved in some of the most significant battles of the Civil War, including the Battle of Antietam, the Battle of Fredericksburg and the Battle of Chancellorsville.

The 5th Mass Battery is a living history organization that strives to recreate the active service of the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. Members of the 5th Mass Battery recreate the life of a soldier in the Army of the Potomac, living, sleeping and drilling in the same manner as the original soldiers. The members of the battery also maintain the history and artifacts of the Civil War, including original weapons, uniforms and artifacts recovered from the battlefields.

The 5th Mass Battery works to educate the public about the Civil War through its many events, including reenactments, lectures, parades and special exhibits. The battery also participates in special events such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, as well as Fourth of July parades.

The 5th Mass Battery works to honor the memory of the men and women who served in the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. Through its dedication to educating the public, the 5th Mass Battery furthers the memory of these brave men and women, their sacrifices and their service to the nation.
