The Mena Area Historic Museum Trust (MAHMT) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2011 with a mission to preserve, protect, and promote the rich history and heritage of the Mena, AR area. Located in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains, the museum holds artifacts, photographs, documents, and other memorabilia that showcase the unique history of the area.

MAHMT is dedicated to providing educational programs, activities, and research opportunities that bring the community together to better understand our shared history. The museum offers guided tours, lectures, and programs that explore the history of Mena and the surrounding area. The museum also hosts special events such as outdoor movie nights, living history demonstrations, and more.

In addition to its educational mission, MAHMT is actively involved in preserving local history. The museum curates an extensive archive of historical artifacts, documents, photographs, and more. This 1930 frame house in Mena, Arkansas (Polk County) contains less than 1000 square feet, probably two rooms wide and not very deep. It has architectural character. There's a curved cement porch and an unusual placement of the front entry. The small porch has a shed roof but with a very small pedimented gable over the porch entrance. The roof is supported by five turned posts and 2 pilastered posts flush with the structure; and the cornice here is accented with dentils. The two visible windows are both one over one but of different sizes. A gable with vent projects out to the boundary of the roof porch; a larger cross gable the width of the house is evident. The vernacular structure needs some fixing up, but its individuality comes through.
