Veterans Memorial Park Association (VMPA) in Caribou, Maine, is an organization dedicated to honoring the service of all veterans and their families. Established in 2008, VMPA is a nonprofit organization that works to honor veterans through the preservation and display of artifacts, monuments, and memorials. The park is open to the public and provides an opportunity to learn about the service and sacrifice of veterans.
The park is situated on 23 acres of land in Caribou and contains many monuments, including the POW/MIA Memorial, the Maine Fallen Heroes Memorial, the Maine Veterans Memorial, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial. There is also a Civil War Monument, a Korean War Monument, and a World War II Monument. Additionally, the park contains a large collection of military artifacts, including uniforms, weapons, photographs, and documents.
The park also features a number of programs and activities such as educational presentations, commemorative ceremonies, and memorial services. VMPA also hosts several events throughout the year, including the Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk, the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, and the annual Veterans Appreciation Picnic.
VMPA is dedicated to providing a place of honor and remembrance for all veterans, and works to educate the public about their service and sacrifice. VMPA also works to promote patriotism, service to our country, and appreciation of our veterans.
