This lighthouse is located across the border in Canada so you will need a valid passport issued by the country you are from in order to get there and back. You can get closer to the lighthouse but it has to be at low tide, I was not there then. This lighthouse was built in 1829 on the northern tip of Campobello Island, New Brunswick. It is the oldest surviving lighthouse in New Brunswick. The lighthouse is a wooden octagonal tower. The tower height is 15.5 meters (51ft).

The original lighthouse at this location was built in 1876, while the present tower dates to 1984. The tower is located at the entrance to Beaver Harbour near the community of the same name. Beaver Harbour was settled in 1783 by a group of loyalists who fled the US during the Revolutionary War. Tower Height: 8 meters (26ft) Focal Height: 14.5 meters (48ft) above water level Light: white flash every 6 seconds, for 6 sec.

This is the last of this 2 day trip to New Brunswick. I got lost in the woods trying to find this lighthouse, walked around for 30 minutes and when I came out of the woods I was 5 km from my car. I had made a big mistake in the location of the lighthouse, it was easy to find and only a short distance from the road. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The original lighthouse at this location was built in 1876, while the present tower dates to 1984.
