The Searsport Historical Society is located in Searsport, Maine and was founded in 1977. The mission of the Society is to preserve, promote and interpret the history of Searsport and the surrounding community. The Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving and exhibiting artifacts and documents related to the history of the town and its people.
The Society's museum collection includes objects such as furniture, tools, clothing, photographs, documents, books and other artifacts representing the history of Searsport. The Society also has a research library and archives containing a range of materials, including local histories, genealogies, newspaper clippings and more.
