Louisiana State University and A&M College (LSU) is a public research university located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded in 1853, it is the flagship institution of the Louisiana State University System. With an enrollment of over 34,000 students, it is the largest university in Louisiana and one of the largest in the Southeastern United States.
LSU offers more than 235 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across its 15 schools and colleges, including the E.J. Ourso College of Business, the College of Engineering, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The university is known for its strong programs in engineering, agriculture, and veterinary medicine.
LSU is also home to one of the most successful college football programs in the country, the LSU Tigers. The university’s athletic teams compete in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and have won numerous national championships.
The campus is spread across 2,000 acres and features a mix of modern and historic buildings. The centerpiece of the campus is the Memorial Tower, which honors LSU alumni who died in World War I. The campus also features several museums, including the LSU Museum of Art and the Louisiana State Museum.
LSU has a diverse student body and offers a range of student organizations and activities, including fraternities and sororities, club sports, and cultural and academic clubs. The university also has a strong commitment to community service and offers numerous opportunities for students to volunteer and give back to the Baton Rouge community.
