The South Logan County Historical Society Incorporated in Adairville, Kentucky is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and heritage of the region. Founded in 1973, the Society works to collect, preserve, and share stories, artifacts, and documents related to the history of South Logan County.

The Society is housed in a building located in Adairville, Kentucky, which was originally the home of James and Lula Clark, who were the first settlers in the area. The Society maintains a research library and museum, which houses artifacts and documents related to the history of the region. In addition to collecting and preserving artifacts, the Society also hosts events and programs such as lectures, workshops, and exhibits, which explore the history of the area.

The Society also produces a quarterly newsletter, which provides information about upcoming events, exhibits, and projects. The newsletter also highlights the happenings of the Society and the achievements of its members.

Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) 2-6-23 2:03pm, in James Bailey's pond (a privately-owned pond). It was by itself, feeding (dipping its head and neck into the water for several seconds). Mr. Bailey said this is the first swan he's seen this year; one year four of them came to the pond. (It departed on Fri., 2-10-23.) Simpson County, KY, USA. Volkswagens at Days Gone By Museum The closest car is a VW (Type 3) 1500 Notchback Coupe. It has a vintage suitcase and Dr. Pepper cooler on the roof rack and a Roy Acuff for Governor (he lost) poster on the hood. There's a Type 1 Beetle in the middle and a blue Type 2 Regular Cab pickup truck on the left. There is a hidden gem museum in the small town of Portland, TN which is worth the drive from Nashville. It started as a private collection of tractors, but has expanded to much more, including multiple forms of transportation: Cars (hot rods, race cars, Volkswagens, 1920s, etc.), trucks, motorcycles, fire engines, a couple of planes and a caboose. Other highlights include vintage toys, cameras, and Maytag. Highland Chapel Union Church - Ridgetop, TN <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highland_Chapel_Union_Church" rel="noreferrer nofollow">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highland_Chapel_Union_Church</a> Highland Chapel Union Church is a historic nondenominational Protestant church on Highland Avenue in Ridgetop, TN. In the 19th century, before the church was established, children in the community attended Sunday school in their school building. Preachers of various different denominations conducted worship services from time to time, establishing a local pattern wherein congregants were unconcerned with denominational identity. In 1890 this led to construction of the community's first church building, called Oak Dell Church. That church was destroyed by a fire in 1904 and replaced by the current church, which was built in 1906. In 1920 its name was changed from Oak Dell to Highland Chapel Union Church. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Video: Canada Geese Taking Off (Branta canadensis) Best viewed on full screen with volume turned up. Notice their head shaking behavior, which they do before they take off. Are they signaling each other? "Get ready!" They spent the night on this pond. I came back to see them take off, continuing their long journey south.
