Swimmers, take a word of caution from an old life guard and scuba diving instructor who has a deep respect for current. Be careful around the surprisingly strong undertows that churning white water hints at. It can pull a person under and not let go.

(Standing on an Appalachian mountain peak on the top of a watchtower, I'm literally on the southern border of Kentucky. To the near side, the left side of the knobs is Virginia to the south. Kentucky lies north on the far side of the line of knob tops. I had the mountains to myself this pandemic afternoon. A cold front with high winds would arrive in the evening.)
