The Butler-Turpin State Historic House is a two-story brick house located in Carrollton, Kentucky. Built in 1859, the house is a prime example of Greek Revival architecture, with its symmetrical design, large columns, and pedimented gable roof. The house was originally built for William O. Butler, a prominent lawyer and politician who served in both the Kentucky House of Representatives and the United States Congress.

In 1864, the house was purchased by Richard Turpin, a successful businessman who owned a local woolen mill. Turpin made several additions and renovations to the house, including the addition of a two-story wing and a side porch. The house remained in the Turpin family until the early 1900s.

Today, the Butler-Turpin State Historic House is open to the public as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of Carroll County's early residents. The museum showcases period furnishings, artwork, and artifacts, as well as exhibits on the history of the house and its occupants. Visitors can also explore the well-manicured grounds, which include a garden, a carriage house, and several outbuildings. Guided tours are available, and the house is open seasonally from April through October.
