Founded in 1978, Friends of the Fort Riley Museums (FFRM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and heritage of Fort Riley, Kansas. The organization works to preserve, interpret and enhance the cultural heritage of the Fort, including its museums, archives, and artifacts. FFRM supports the preservation and interpretation of Fort Riley’s history through a variety of programs and activities.

FFRM supports the activities of the Fort Riley Museum, which is located on post, and the nearby Custer House Museum. The Fort Riley Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the post and its soldiers, and contains a variety of artifacts, photographs, and documents. The Custer House Museum, located in downtown Junction City, contains artifacts related to General George Custer and his historic march to Fort Riley in 1866.

FFRM also sponsors educational programs and events, such as lectures and workshops. In addition, the organization offers tours of the Fort Riley and Custer House Museums, as well as other historic sites on post.

FFRM also serves as a liaison between the Fort Riley Museum and the public, connecting people to the history of the post and its soldiers. As a result, the organization plays an important role in preserving the heritage of Fort Riley and its surrounding area.
